New Torpedo sandwiches @ Quizno’s
Am eating a new sandwich for lunch today from Quizno’s. This one’s called a Pesto Turkey Torpedo, and it’s a long, extremely thin sandwich with a new type of bread, almost foccachia-like. For sizing, think about a giant Olive Garden breadstick…but with a firmer texture.
Other than the form factor and bread, it’s pretty standard Quizno’s. Toasted of course, with meat, cheese, and sauces like their other sandys. This one I ate had a nice tangy pesto sauce for a decidely Italian flair. Had to add the banana peppers of course.
There are 4 types of Torpedos available now, 2 turkey, a beef, and one other. The cashier said they’ve only been serving them for 5 days, so you can still hop on the bandwagon early.
Selling for $4, I paid $6.39 w/ chips and a drink. Not a bad deal and quite tasty and filling. Would definitely buy one again. Go grab one and try it for yourself before they yank ‘em off the menu.
